Sports Premium

PE and Sport Premium at Sacred Heart Primary School

The PE and Sport Premium is funding provided to schools to help make lasting improvements to the provision of physical education and sport for all primary-aged pupils. Its aim is to encourage children to lead healthy, active lifestyles.

At Sacred Heart Primary, we use the PE and Sport Premium to:

  • Build capacity and sustainability – ensuring that improvements to PE, sport, and physical activity now will continue to benefit future pupils.
  • Enhance opportunities – developing and adding to the PE, sport, and physical activity experiences available to all children.

We aim to use the funding effectively by focusing on five key areas:

  1. Improving staff confidence and skills in teaching PE and leading sporting activities.
  2. Increasing pupil participation in regular physical activity and sporting opportunities.
  3. Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school to support whole-school development.
  4. Providing a wider range of sports and physical activities to ensure all children have equal access.
  5. Encouraging competitive sport and participation in local and regional competitions.

Since September 2013, Ofsted inspections require schools to report on how PE and Sport Premium funding is spent. At Sacred Heart Primary, we are committed to transparency and demonstrating the impact of this funding.
